6T40 transmission tear down, We just started rebuilding a transmission for a 2012 Chevy Equinox with a six speed automatic transmission. The transmission will be getting new clutches, seals, pistons, chain, drums, and an internal transmission computer.
This is the 5.7 liter Chevy motor with the cylinder heads removed. When coolant starts to leak into your engine block, you have to remove the cylinder heads, resurface them to correct any warps, replace the head gaskets, head bolts, intake manifold gaskets, valve cover gaskets and a few other small parts. The job requires precision work and a skilled mechanic .

Here at Austin's Transmission, we don't just work on transmissions, here is a picture of us working on a Mazda 3 to replace the blower motor under the dash.
For this job, we had to remove the motor on a Buick Enclave in order to get to the timing chain. The discoloration of the components is caused by going to long between oil changes. The cleaner a motor is, the better it runs and the longer it lasts.
